High Meadow Ranch Golf Club

Print E-mail

Located just 40 miles from the outskirts of booming Houston, High Meadow Ranch Golf Club is nestled amid the towering oaks and cloud-clipping pines in the southwest Montgomery County town of Magnolia.

The 18-hole championship course at High Meadow Ranch has emerged as the preeminent public access facility in the area and is making further strides toward becoming one of the best in Texas by improving accessibility and amenities.

For $150 golfers can purchase the course’s Ranch Card which opens the door to a seemingly endless string of discounts, deals and opportunities. For starters, the Ranch Card guarantees lower rates in 2008 by giving golfers a $20 discount on greens fees every time out. Guests will also receive preferred rates.

Ranch Card holders will also be able to use their benefi ts when they hit the road. As an OB Sports golf course, High Meadow Ranch cardholders are part of OB’s national cardholder program which extends discounted rates to a collection of courses throughout the country.

The 3,000 square-foot Ranch House is now in its second year and is a great place to get out of the hot, Texas sun. The enclosed, air-conditioned facility is home to Ogie’s Restaurant and features a 1,000 square-foot deck that’s perfect for weddings, parties and business meetings. “It’s a pretty good tournament destination,” said Cody Spivey, general manager and course superintendent. “There’s a lot going on under there.”

The par-72 golf course that measures close to 7,400 yards from the back tees was designed by former Texas PGA Tour player David Ogrin and Tim Nugent. The course emphasizes shot values by creating a variety of angles of play and by utilizing the natural obstacles present throughout the course.

The course consists of three six-hole loops, Forest, Pine Barrens and Signature, which all bring distinguishable characteristics to the layout.

Forest is a traditional Texas stretch, with natural ravines and majestic old oak trees. Pine Barrens has large landing areas and wide, sweeping greens. The final, Signature loop features dramatic elevation changes and incredible scenery.

You can check out High Meadow Ranch on the web before making the trek to Magnolia by visiting www.highmeadowranchgolf.com or by calling (281) 356-7700.
