Oaks Golf & Country Club is also home to a new executive/family nine hole course and a new family-style, junior Olympic size swimming pool. The facility also boasts a lake perfect for catch-and-release fishing, beach volleyball, tennis and playground equipment, ideal for that large family picnic or reunion. Oaks.
The nine hole course which has now been in business for six months, continues to get good reviews. “It’s in excellent shape,” said Ward Sheldon, general manager at Houston Oaks. “A lot (of people) play it and can’t believe how challenging it is. It’s not an afterthought. It was well planned and well thought out.” The course takes just under an hour and a half to navigate and is a great way to get acquainted with golf. All of these amenities are available to the members at Houston Oaks as well as their families. The membership options include full, single, junior and senior. Memberships at Houston Oaks are all-inclusive and very reasonably priced. For complete details, please contact the membership coordinator at 936-372-4304. The championship course provides golfers with an atmosphere and challenge they won’t soon forget. Measuring 6,400 yards from the back tees, the 18-hole course forces golfers to think their way around the course, not just overpower it. Golfers may also find it difficult to ignore the spectacular surroundings which aren’t diminished by homes on the course. “It’s different than anything in the entire Houston area,” said Sheldon. “Oaks line every fairway; some are massive and over 350 years old. I’ve never seen anything like it. We’re 15 minutes outside of the city and it feels like you’re two hours away. There is no telling what type of animals you’ll see out there. It’s just nature at its best.” For more information visit Houston Oaks Golf & Country Club online at www.houstonoaks.com or call 713-888-0000. |
