Located a half hour outside of downtown San Antonio in historic Boerne, the club is now semi-private and features some of the most spectacular views the golf and real estate industries have ever seen. A six million dollar plan for improvements and additions is underway at Tapatio Springs. The need for increased meeting space in order to accommodate increasingly large groups at the resort prompted the construction and now completion of an impressive 10,000 square-foot conference center.

Three championship golf combinations, unlimited recreation options

With the addition of “The Ridge” in 1999, the golf course at Tapatio Springs now consists of three separate nines – the aforementioned Ridge, “The Lakes” and “The Valley”. Players can now enjoy three different combinations when playing a full 18. The Valley/Ridge combination is rated as the most difficult from the back tees playing to a length of approximately 6,500 yards with a course rating of 71.7 and a slope of 133. The Lakes/Valley plays the longest at 6,504 yards. The Ridge/Lakes only plays to a par 70 but is significantly shorter at 6,252 yards.

The course was designed by award-winning golf course architect Bill Johnston, a professional golfer who at one time displayed his skills on the PGA Tour. His biggest career victory was a win in the 1958 Texas Open Invitational. He has designed several well known courses in Arizona and Texas including The Dominion Country Club in San Antonio and The Links at Arizona Biltmore Country Club in Phoenix.

The Dallas Morning News has heaped high praise upon the golf course at Tapatio Springs, consistently ranking it as a “Top Ten Texas Course.”

When you’re not out on the links, you can enjoy the wide selection of merchandise and a variety of golf services available at the Pro Shop at Tapatio Springs. Staffed by PGA professionals, the pro shop offers group or individual golf instruction, clinics and exhibitions as well as professional tournament services.

Golf may be the breadwinner at Tapatio Springs but it’s far from being the only game in town. The resort features two lighted tennis courts which are newly renovated, a heated swimming pool with adjoining Jacuzzi and a complete fitness center.
