Titleist Delivers Advanced Performance

Titleist Delivers Advanced Performance Ah, it’s springtime. A time when man’s fancy turns to... new clubs! The manufacturers have outdone themselves this year with some great new designs. It will be harder to blame your clubs for a bad shot.

At the top of the list are two new sets from Titleist. The AP1 irons are for the skilled or aspiring player. The multi-material head will produce a higher ball flight with great feel and control. The dual cavity will offer forgiveness on the off center hits.

The construction of the AP1 is a #431 stainless steel head with a tungsten nickel box, an elastomer cushion and an aluminum cavity plate. The tungsten nickel box moves weight back away from the face to produce the higher ball flight while the elastomer cushion reduces face vibration. Shaft choices are the new Dynamic Gold HL or the
75 gram VS Proto.

The AP2 irons are designed for the skilled player. The 1025 carbon steel body incorporates the same basic design of the AP1 with the tungsten nickel box, elastomer cushion and aluminum cavity plate. The cavity plate and elastomer cushion will give the face rigidity and a low vibration solid feel.

The dual cavity pushes weight to the perimeter to produce a shot that carries even on the off-center hit. The design gives a contemporary look to the traditional blade design. Already a tour victory to its credit with Adam Scott on the grips.

Strictly Golf will have the rest of the new line from Titleist by mid-March. Until next time Hit ‘em long and straight.
